Alison Coxhead - Natural Reflections
Alison considers herself to be a passionate gardener first and foremost, this is what led to her career in garden design. Plants are always at the forefront of her designs. She enjoys the practical side of gardening and loves to get her hands dirty!
Her interest in plants stems from childhood, but wasn't fully realised until later life. She went back to college at the age of 30 to study an RHS course in horticulture, became inspired and started work in a local garden centre, to gain further horticultural experience and knowledge.
Alison became a self employed gardener in October 2005 and now employs a team of RHS qualified staff that design, install, sustain and maintain gardens all over Kent. Her business provides a full range of gardening services.
In partnership with Ian Day, of I J Day Landscapes, she has worked on many hard and soft landscaping projects, gaining an understanding of the design to installation process. Alison has developed her garden design skills to provide a comprehensive service to her clients in both the private and commercial sectors.
She now feels very privileged to have won the chance to build her show garden for Jacksons Fencing, which will be open for viewing from the 19th May 2012.
Alison appreciates the classic garden style and tries to add a fresh, modern twist, often incorporating nature and wildlife.
She designs gardens to match her clients’ individual desires and needs, to produce beautiful and functional outdoor spaces, which can be enjoyed for many years. In addition she provides a full maintenance service to ensure the long term success of her gardens.
Alison is currently aspiring to build a garden for the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2013.
