Diamond Rail/Knee Rail Fencing
Our timber knee rail fencing is made using our trademark vacuum pressure treated Jakcure® softwood timber and is guaranteed for 25 years. Constructed using galvanised straps, our knee rail fencing is built to last.
Diamond rail, also known as knee rail fencing, is ideal for marking boundaries while maintaining open sight lines. It is commonly used in car parks, public open spaces, footpaths and landscaped areas where a robust yet unobtrusive fencing solution is required. The angled rail design helps deflect impact, making it particularly suitable for traffic management and pedestrian guidance applications.
All components are precision machined to ensure consistent fit and straightforward installation, delivering a clean, professional finish once installed. The use of Jakcure® treatment provides excellent resistance to rot and insect attack, helping to reduce maintenance requirements and extend service life.
Knee Rail Fence Specification
- Planed finish
- 91 x 91mm birdsmouth top posts available in 0.90m (200900) and 1.2m (201000) lengths
- 70 x 70mm nominal section rails available in 3.6m lengths (200936)
- Posts spaced at 1.8m centres or 1.2m centres if a heavy duty knee rail fence is required
- Galvanised strap (201100) to secure posts to rails with 50mm nails (800710 for stainless steel or 800110 for galvanised)
- 25 year Jakcure® guarantee
The following products can be used as rails but the above 3.6m rail is recommended. 2.7m rail with 1.35m post centres (640600) or 1.8m rail with posts spaced at 1.80m centres (640300) long.

Birdsmouth post and rail is called so as the posts in which the diamond shaped rail sit into, look like an open bird's mouth.
