Location: Ashford Hours: 8am – 5.30pm Monday – Friday, and alternate Saturday mornings

Overview of the company

Our clients range from homeowners buying fencing for their gardens to Industry and High Security establishments, protecting facilities and equipment. We currently seek a hard working professional to join and support our metal workshop team based in Ashford.

Overview of position

This is a vital role within the security division, preparing loads ready for galvanising/powder coating. The role requires good attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Training will be given where needed. Applicant must have a current counterbalance F/Lift certificate. Every other Saturday morning will be contracted, this is flexible to company needs.

Duties

  • Prepare loads ready for galvanising, ensuring paperwork and systems are completed correctly.
  • Work closely with admin planning office to keep stock controlled.
  • Load and unload Galv lorry daily. Unload raw material and ensure every item is in its correct place.
  • Manage material rotation.
  • Serve workshop with materials and remove completed products.
  • Keep loading yard and setting yard tidy.
  • Working alongside line manager, organise yard to be safe and efficient.
  • Serve PPC plant and setters as necessary, working closely as a team with 3 other supervisors.
  • Ensure safety is the first priority.
  • Be prepared to help other departments to reach customers’ needs, such as cutting mesh, packing etc.
  • Requirements

  • Must be prepared to work outside in all weathers.
  • Must have good communication skills and the ability to be flexible to help other teams.
  • Loading experience would be an advantage.
  • Working alone most of the time using self-initiative.
  •  

    Due to location of the office, own transport is essential
