Our slotted Jakposts® are designed to work with all of our fencing panels from Jaktop and Palisade to Featherboard, and even our Premier Trellis panels.

All panels slot easily into position as shown here. And there are many other benefits of using Jakposts, as opposed to old fashioned square section posts:

  • Jakposts reduce damage caused by wind movement when panels are screwed to posts
  • No more frost damaged cracked or chipped concrete posts
  • Easy to carry - lighter than concrete posts
  • Environmentally friendly
  • More supportive than square section posts
  • Easier to erect than concrete posts

25-year Jakcure® guarantee:

Please note: Where possible, avoid cutting, drilling or notching any timber that will be in-ground, as per our 25 year Jakcure® terms and conditions. If occasional sections do have to be cut then Cut Treatment should be applied liberally.

We recommend that all posts should be set in concrete or using a post fix mix at a minimum 0.6m into the ground. Please ask for advice when sizing gate posts. Download Post Installation Instructions

Our timber Jakposts are renowned for their strength and longevity, however some batches of the product may show a disruption to the timber around the nails which is caused as the nail is driven into the posts.  This is due to the variation in raw material and the force in which the nail is driven.  If it does cause a visual upset, the timber around the nail can be trimmed with a sharp craft knife or be sanded lightly. This will not affect the structural integrity of the product, nor the 25 year guarantee.

Standard Jakpost®

  • 100mm x 100mm nominal planed finish with two 54mm x 25mm slots for fence panels

Heavy Duty Jakpost®

      • 120mm x 124mm nominal, planed finish with two 54mm x 25mm slots for fence panels

Angled Slotted Jakpost®

Our angled slotted Jakpost® has been designed to help those tricky fence runs. Not every garden or fence run is straight or every corner 90 degrees. Therefore, we have designed and manufactured an angled fence post allowing a change of direction between 30 to 45 degrees.

Useful Note 1:

54mm wide x 25mm deep slot is to allow a clearance on our 50mm wide panel framing.

Useful Note 2:

To accommodate for a change of direction in fence line for an angle not equal to 90 degrees you can use our Angled Slotted Jakpost which allows a change of direction between 30-45 degrees.

Useful Note 3:

When calculating total length of run of panel fencing on standard slotted posts add 1830mm for each panel plus 75mm per end and 50mm per intermediate post.

Useful Note 4:

Include Postcrete to give your posts proper support; we recommend using 3 bags per post for soft ground or exposed areas or 2 bags per post for hard ground or smaller panels, just add water to mix please use code 648070

Heavy Duty Slotted Fence Posts are available and should be used when the overall fence height is 2.0m and over, where there is the possibility of high wind load, or the fence is steeply stepped. Jakposts are ideal when adding trellis topping panels.

We recommend using 6 screws per panel or 12 per panel if using capping rails.

60mm Screws, Self-Drilling Countersunk Stainless Steel are available in pack of 100 or 200 to secure panels to posts, see codes:
