Featherboard | Feather edge fencing

Each feather edge boards is 100mm, but each board should over lap the last by 20mm. It works out about 12 boards per metre. Bays (gap between each post) should be 2.4m which will require 29 pales.

Depending on the overall height of the featheredge fence will depend on how many rails are used. Rails are fixed to posts. Feather edge boards are then fixed to the rails. Featheredge boards should overlap each other by 20mm. For full instructions read our installation instructions.

Featherboard and closeboard fencing are essentially the same in appearance and function – both use overlapping vertical feather edge boards to create a strong, solid fence. The main difference lies in the terminology and how they’re constructed. Some brands refer to pre-assembled panel versions as featherboard panels, while others call the traditional, built-on-site version closeboard. At Jacksons, we use the terminology Featherboard panels for premade fence panels and Traditional Featherboard for kit form.
