About the panel

Rounded Pale Palisade or Picket fencing is a classic fence panel. Ideal for front gardens or demarcation, the panel is ready made, designed for use with our slotted Jakpost®.

Panel Specification

Our Round Top Palisade fence panels are made using our trademark vacuum pressure treated Jakcure® softwood timber, guaranteed for 25 years. Constructed using stainless steel fixings, our fence panels are built to last.

• All fence panels are 1.83m wide
• Panel thickness is 50mm
• Fence Pales are 22 x 75mm nominal section planed to finish at 19mm thick.
• Pale tops are machined.
• Each panel is backed by two 2ex 100 x 38mm cant rails. Cant is the difference in elevation (height) between the two edges. Water will run off the rail.
• The fence should be erected 50mm above ground level to prevent panel from touching the ground
• Gravel boards do not need to be used if panels are installed 50mm from the ground and there is no ground contact .

Please Note: dimensions may increase by 6% when first delivered as our treatment process can temporarily cause the product to swell.

Reducing the width of the fence panel – All fence panel are 1.83m wide as standard, if you require a narrower fence panel, you can cut the fence panel down on site using our cut down kit. Please remember to treat any cut ends with Jakcure Cut Treatment, to ensure you adhere to our 25-year guarantee guidelines.

Recommended Fixings

We recommend using 6 screws per panel or 12 per panel if using capping rails plus an additional 4 per gravel board. 60mm, stainless steel, self-drilling countersunk screws are available in packs of 100 or 200 to secure panels to posts. Panels should be screwed to the posts to secure the fence run.

There are two styles of Palisade fencing - traditional, and panel form which is shown on this page. Traditional palisade is when the fence is constructed onsite by manually attaching the rails to the posts and then each pale to the rails.
