Jacksons Fencing has received a bronze accreditation from the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).

This voluntary certification was developed to improve fleet activity throughout the UK and provides a benchmark for operators to work lawfully and to best practice including management, drivers, vehicles and operations. Receiving this accreditation means Jacksons Fencing operates at a standard that is above the legal requirement.

To qualify for the accreditation, the family run company put a number of additions into place across its 14 HGV delivery fleet; safety cameras, extra blind-spot mirrors and verbal warning beepers have been fitted to all lorries. The audit also checked insurance policies, operating licences and safe working practices.

Commenting on the award, Peter Jackson, CEO said:

“The bronze FORS accreditation is great news for Jacksons – best practice is very important to us across all operations, including transport. The safety of the general public as well as our drivers is and always will be a major priority.

Ian Parker, Jacksons’ Transport Manager and the operations team have worked hard to improve vehicle and road safety and this award demonstrates our commitment. It also offers our clients the assurance they are dealing with a company that recognises best practice within the industry. We are very pleased to gain recognition for the way we maintain and run our fleet.”

Jacksons will now be audited every year and already have plans in place to achieve FORS silver accreditation.
